Website not loading? Most of the time it’s one of a handful of things, and you can check them in a few minutes.
1. Has anything expired?
Check your domain and hosting in the client area. An expired or unpaid service stops your website. See My domain has expired.
2. What does the page say?
| You see… | It usually means |
|---|---|
| “This site can’t be reached” or “Server not found” | A DNS problem, often after a nameserver change. See My DNS change didn’t go live |
| “Account suspended” | An unpaid invoice, or a security problem. Check your invoices, or contact us |
| Error 500 | A broken plugin, theme or .htaccess file, often after an update |
| Error 503 or 508 | Your site hit its resource limits, often from heavy traffic or bots |
| A security warning about the certificate | An SSL problem. See Free SSL (AutoSSL) isn’t working |
| Strange pages or redirects | Possibly hacked. See My website has been hacked |
3. Did you change anything recently?
A new plugin, theme or update is the most common cause. If you can, undo it, or restore a backup from before the change. See Back up and restore your website.
4. Try another connection
Sometimes a site doesn’t load on one network only. Try mobile data or another device. If it works there, the problem is with that network.
