Set up email on iPhone and iPad

3 minute readUpdated 19 Oct 2026

Add your Tasjeel.ae mailbox to the Mail app that comes with your iPhone or iPad. It takes about two minutes.

Before you start

You’ll need your email address, your mailbox password and your server name. See Email settings: server names and ports.

Add your mailbox

  1. Open Mail Accounts

Open Settings, tap Apps, then Mail, then Mail Accounts. On older iPhones it’s Settings › Mail › Accounts.

Settings › Apps › Mail: tap Mail Accounts
Settings › Apps › Mail: tap Mail Accounts
  2. Tap Add Account

  7. Choose IMAP and fill in the incoming server

Make sure IMAP is selected at the top. Under Incoming Mail Server, type your server name or mail.yourdomain.ae in Host Name, your full email address in User Name, and your password.

    Server name or mail.yourdomain.ae?

Use mail.yourdomain.ae only if your domain points to your Tasjeel.ae hosting. Use your server name (such as finyaan.tasjeel.ae) if any of these apply: your website is hosted somewhere else (such as Shopify or Wix) · your domain uses Cloudflare · your DNS is managed outside Tasjeel.ae · your app says it can’t verify the server or its certificate. Whichever you choose, use the same one for incoming and outgoing.

  8. Fill in the outgoing server

Under Outgoing Mail Server, type the same server name in Host Name. Fill in User Name and Password too, even though your iPhone says they’re optional. Without them, your emails won’t send. Tap Next.

No ports to type.

Your iPhone finds the right ports and security by itself. For sending it usually picks port 587, which works fine. If it ever asks: incoming 993 with SSL on, outgoing 465 with SSL on, or 587.

Common questions

It says “Cannot Get Mail” or that the username or password is wrong.

Check that Host Name holds the server name and User Name holds your full email address. They’re easy to swap. Then retype the password. If you’re still stuck, set a new mailbox password in cPanel. See Change or reset an email password.

It says it “Cannot Verify Server Identity”.

Use your server name, such as finyaan.tasjeel.ae, instead of mail.yourdomain.ae, for both servers. See Email settings: server names and ports.

My emails won’t send.

Check your outgoing server, as shown in Check your sending settings above. The password is the one most often missing.

Can I use the Gmail app on my iPhone instead?

Yes. See Set up email in the Gmail app (Android and iPhone).
