Set up email on Android

2 minute readUpdated 19 Oct 2026

Add your Tasjeel.ae mailbox to the Samsung Email app that comes with Samsung Galaxy phones. Prefer the Gmail app? See Set up email in the Gmail app (Android and iPhone).

Before you start

You’ll need your email address, your mailbox password and your server name. See Email settings: server names and ports.

Add your mailbox

  1. Open Samsung Email and tap Other

The first time you open the app, you’ll see Set up Email. Tap Other. Already using the app for another account? Tap the ☰ menu, then ⚙ Settings › Add account › Other.

    Tap Other
    Tap Other
  2. Type your email and password, then tap Manual setup

Enter your full email address and your mailbox password. Then tap Manual setup at the bottom left. Don’t tap Sign in yet: the app would guess your settings, and often guesses wrong.

  3. Choose IMAP account

When the app asks for the account type, tap IMAP account.

    Choose IMAP account
    Choose IMAP account
  4. Fill in the incoming server

Check Username is your full email address. In IMAP server, type your server name or mail.yourdomain.ae. Set Security type to SSL and Port to 993. Leave IMAP path prefix empty.

    Server name or mail.yourdomain.ae?

Use mail.yourdomain.ae only if your domain points to your Tasjeel.ae hosting. Use your server name (such as finyaan.tasjeel.ae) if any of these apply: your website is hosted somewhere else (such as Shopify or Wix) · your domain uses Cloudflare · your DNS is managed outside Tasjeel.ae · your app says it can’t verify the server or its certificate. Whichever you choose, use the same one for incoming and outgoing.

Common questions

It says “Could not verify account”.

The app couldn’t log in. Tap Show password and check it carefully, and check the username is your full email address. Then check the server name. If you’re still stuck, set a new mailbox password in cPanel and try again. See Change or reset an email password.

It says it can’t connect, or shows a certificate warning.

Use your server name, such as finyaan.tasjeel.ae, instead of mail.yourdomain.ae, for both servers. See Email settings: server names and ports.

I don’t have a Samsung phone.

Use the Gmail app instead. It comes with every Android phone. See Set up email in the Gmail app (Android and iPhone).
