Since March 2026, SSL certificates can only be issued for 199 days at a time. Your one-year certificate still lasts the year: it just needs a free reissue part-way through.
What’s changed
The industry rules for SSL changed in March 2026, and every certificate authority now issues certificates for at most 199 days. You still pay once a year. Part-way through, the certificate is reissued for the rest of your year, at no cost.
What you need to do
- Watch for our reminder
We email you before your certificate needs reissuing.
- Open your SSL service
Log in to the client area, go to Services › My Services and click Manage next to the SSL certificate.
- Reissue it
Click Reissue. Paste a new CSR, made the same way as the first time (see Install a paid SSL certificate), and choose how to prove the domain is yours.
- Prove the domain again
Add the new DNS record shown on your SSL service where your DNS lives. Use the new one: the record from last time won’t work. The new certificate is issued once the record is seen, often within an hour.
- Install the new certificate
Copy the new certificate from your SSL service and install it the same way as before. Your old certificate keeps working until you replace it.
Open a ticket and we’ll do the reissue and install for you.
Using our free SSL on Tasjeel.ae hosting? Nothing to do: it renews by itself.
